During the West Nile Virus season (May to October), the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Centre for Food-borne, Environmental and Zoonotic Infectious Disease, produces weekly West Nile Virus MONITOR reports and maps, summarizing West Nile Virus activity in Canada. West Nile Virus national surveillance is a collaborative effort between the Public Health Agency of Canada, provincial and territorial Ministries of Health, the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative, Health Canada's First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Canadian Blood Services, and Héma-Québec.
Surveillance information is reported to the Public Health Agency of Canada and updated on a weekly basis. This delay may account for any discrepancies between the surveillance results posted on provincial/territorial websites and the Agency's web site.
