Travelling for Winter Break?

Travel Health Notice
Many people may be planning to travel to popular tourist destinations, or home to visit family and friends in areas where there may be risks to their health during the winter months.
The Public Health Agency of Canada recommends that travellers be aware of the risks and take the steps to reduce their risk of illness while abroad.
Recommendations
Consult a doctor, nurse or health care provider, or visit a travel health clinic preferably six weeks before you travel.
- Consider getting vaccinated:
- Travellers should consult a health care provider to discuss the benefits of getting vaccinated.
- Bring a travel first aid kit
- Obtain travel health insurance
- Follow safe food and water practices
- Wash your hands frequently
- Protect yourself from mosquito bites
- Monitor your health:
- If you develop symptoms while travelling, or after you return to Canada, you should see a health care provider.
