Specific Learning Objectives of Terry's Case
At the end of Terry's case, the participant will be able to: |
1. Properly question a youth to identify STI risk by probing the
six relevant components of the STI Risk Evaluation
Questionnaire.
2. Adequately screen a youth most at
risk for STIs. This includes testing for Neisseria
gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, Treponema
pallidum (syphilis), hepatitis B virus, and human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV) with pre and post-test counselling.
This may also include hepatitis C virus and TB screening if
appropriate.
3. Plan prevention strategies specific to youth most at risk for STIs, including STI prevention,
drug use risk reduction and proper linkage to social, mental and
health resources.
