Cervical warts

Genital warts, caused by different genotypes of HPV (human papilloma virus), are the most common viral STI. These warts can be cauliflower-like lesions (condyloma acuminata); flesh coloured, dome shaped papules; keratotic lesions with a thick crust-like layer; or flat topped lesions that are slightly raised. The cervix is the most common site of HPV infection in women. Cervical warts generally appear as cauliflower-like lesions. A biopsy during colposcopy will confirm the diagnosis.
