Canadian SARS Numbers

Canada: As of July 11, 2003 there are a total of 438 cases; 250 probable (18 active) and 188 suspect (0 active) in Canada. See tables 1 and 2 for today's breakdown of case status by affected province/territory and tables 3 and 4 for numbers reported over the previous ten days. The most recent date of onset of illness for a probable case is June 12, 2003; this case was quarantined on June 4, 2003. International: Since November 1, 2002, a cumulative total of 8,437 cases of SARS, including 813 deaths have been reported to the World Health Organization (WHO). Since June 10, one new death was reported in France. On July 9, 2003 the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) removed its travel alert for Toronto, as more than 30 days (or 3 incubation periods) have elapsed since the date of onset of symptoms for the last case.
