Disparities
HIGHLIGHTS
The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the disparities in
rates of injury-related hospitalization and death among children
and youth according to region, family income and ethnic
background:
- analysis of rates of hospitalization and death by region of
residence;
- analysis of rates by income quintile;
- analysis of rates of injury-related deaths among young Status
Indians as compared with the rates for Canadian children and youth
as a whole;
- analysis of rates of injury-related deaths among Canadian
children and youth as compared with the rates among the same age
groups in the United States, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, the
United Kingdom and Sweden.
