Key Considerations and Expert Reviews

To provide a basis for decision-making, and to assess the extent to which the use of antivirals for prophylaxis could contribute to meeting the goals of the CPIP and of the antiviral strategy, TGAP undertook or commissioned expert reviews of current knowledge in key relevant areas. These covered scientific, health system/logistical, legal, ethical/societal, economic, F/P/T, and international considerations, as well as First Nations and Inuit considerations. Citizens, stakeholders, and potential target groups were consulted through deliberative dialogues across Canada. Gaps in knowledge requiring further research were identified. Key findings are summarized below, and all background papers are annexed to this Report (see Annex 3).
