National CHIRPP studies and reporting

Since the Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention Program (CHIRPP) began in 1990, over 170 published studies and other public products using the CHIRPP's information have been completed. These include publications based on participating hospitals' own local CHIRPP information, plus studies and other products reporting national-level CHIRPP information.

To appeal to a wide variety of readers, CHIRPP information has been published in several different formats over the years. These include peer-reviewed scientific papers, reports, injury briefs, "at-a-glance" papers, and in more recent times we have introduced infographics and data blogs. No matter the format, the overall goal is to provide information that supports injury prevention workers, researchers, healthcare providers, public health practitioners, and the general public in an effort to reduce the number and severity of injuries across Canada.

The following are products reporting national-level CHIRPP statistics that were authored or co-authored by Public Health Agency of Canada staff. Click on a title to view the information.
