Table 9.1 shows the percentage of Grade 10 students who drank beer, wine, liquor once a week or more by year of survey and gender. The table shows that in 1990, 30% of boys and 19% of girls drank beer once a week or more compared to 22% of boys and 14% of girls in 1994, 18% of boys and 10% of girls in 1998, 27% of boys and 9% of girls in 2002, 18% boys and 8% of girls in 2006 and 16% of boys and 6% of girls in 2010. On the same question, the table shows 6% of boys and 5% of girls drank wine once a week or more in 1990 compared to 5% of boys and 3% of girls in 1994, 5% of boys and 3% of girls in 1998, 6% of boys and 3% of girls in 2002, 5% boys and 3% of girls in 2006 and 3% of boys and 2% of girls in 2010. On the same question, the table shows 15% of boys and 11% of girls drank liquor once a week or more in 1990 compared to 9% of boys and 8% of girls in 1994, 11% of boys and 9% of girls in 1998, 18% of boys and 15% of girls in 2002, 10% boys and 9% of girls in 2006 and 10% of boys and 10% of girls in 2010.
