Summary: In 2009, the proportion of young Canadians who reported being diagnosed with a mood disorder was as follows: 2.0% among male youth; 3.4% among female youth; 3.5% among young adult males; and 6.9% among young adult females. Among the overall population aged 12 years and older, 4.6% of males and 8.3% of females reported being diagnosed with a mood disorder.
