Figure 4-11 shows that rates of smoking have been declining in Canada, although the decline was more pronounced for females when compared to males. Based on age-standardized CCHS data, in 2010 15.5% of Canadians aged 12 years and older were daily tobacco smokers (13.0% of females; 18.1% of males).
