After a stroke, you may have to learn different ways to think, speak and move. Stroke rehabilitation (rehab) is a learning process where the rehabilitation team will work closely with you and your caregiver(s). Together you will set goals, make a plan and take part in treatment that will give you the strength and confidence to live as independently as possible.

No one can say how long a rehab program should last, since each program is tailored to meet an individual's recovery needs. A program can also change if your condition improves.
