Hepatitis C Prevention, Support and Research Program Projects in New Brunswick

Development of a Community-based Primary Health Care Program for Individuals Living with Hepatitis C

University of New Brunswick Community Health Clinic

This project proposes to develop a holistic program to manage hepatitis C aimed at clients of the Community Health Clinic who are homeless and for those with addictions in the Fredericton, New Brunswick area and have been infected by the Hepatitis C virus or are at risk of contracting it. The expected results of this project include: increased access to support and treatment for those with Hepatitis C in the Fredericton area, increased involvement in disease management by those with Hepatitis C, and increased opportunities for students from a number of allied health disciplines to become familiar with the health impacts of hepatitis C and the available management options.
