Funding Programs

Community Action Program for Children

Logo - CAPCThe Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) provides long-term funding to community groups to deliver programs that address the health and social development of children from birth to age 6.  Priority participants vary in each community but most often include children of adolescent mothers, families with low incomes, and those who are socially or geographically isolated.  CAPC projects work because they are based at the community level and are locally designed to meet the needs of the communities they serve.

Atlantic Canada has 43 CAPC projects.  A typical CAPC project operates through a family resource centre, of which many have outreach programs to serve rural communities in their area.
