Funding Programs

Aboriginal Head Start

AHS LogoAboriginal Head Start (AHS) is an early intervention funding program for Aboriginal children and their families living in urban and northern communities.  The mandate of AHS is to meet the needs and foster the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth of off-reserve Aboriginal children.  AHS projects include the following six components:

  • Nutrition
  • Education
  • Health promotion
  • Social support
  • Culture and language
  • Parental involvement.
