Promoting Social and Economic Inclusion

At the Atlantic Regional Office of the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC Atlantic), we recognize that groups of people have been excluded from full participation in society. Such exclusion has important health implications. Social and economic inclusion has become an important theme for all our work. We continue to work with community organizations and provincial government departments to develop healthy public policies that promote the social and economic inclusion of all citizens.

The Atlantic Centre of Excellence for Women's HealthThis link will take you to another web site (external link) is a key partner with PHAC Atlantic in this area. In collaboration with PHAC and three reference groups, the Centre has prepared a number of documents relating to social and economic exclusion in Atlantic Canada. These documents are available in both English and French on the Centre's website.
