Description

The Atlantic Regional Office of the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC Atlantic) plays an important role in promoting the health of Acadians and Francophones by facilitating communication and action among interested partners. Early in 2001, a series of consultations was held with Acadians and Francophones in the four Atlantic provinces. This 10-page document briefly describes the Francophone population in Atlantic Canada, summarizes the results of the consultations and outlines an Atlantic strategy for improving service in response to the consultation findings, including an action plan based on the principles of inclusivity and collaboration, partnership, evaluation and complementarity. The plan specifies goals, objectives and anticipated activities over the next four years for working more closely with Acadians and Francophones in the region.
