Distribution of the H1N1 Flu Vaccine

The Government of Canada continues to oversee the distribution of the H1N1 flu vaccine from the vaccine manufacturer to the provinces and territories.

So far, enough vaccine has been distributed and/or stored to cover over 80 per cent of the population. In fact, some provinces have asked the manufacturer to slow down its planned shipments because they currently have enough vaccine in circulation or warehoused to meet their current requirements. The Territories have been supplied in full.

We continue to encourage all Canadians to get vaccinated because we cannot predict what the H1N1 flu virus will do over the coming weeks and vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself and your family from infection.

The following table lists the number of doses of H1N1 flu vaccine distributed and/or stored to date.

1. Dose distribution as of Dec 13 (9 weeks of distribution) 2. All of the adjuvanted doses allocated to Québec from the week 10 distribution were delivered prior to the end of week 9 and have been included in the column for week 9 (total of 723,000 doses). 3.Doses stored are doses that are available from Canada's manufacturer for immediate shipping to provinces and territories as and when requested. 4. Some of the adjuvanted doses allocated to Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and Québec from the week 9 distribution were delivered prior to the end of week 8 and have been included in the column for week 8 (total of 2,115,000 doses)

Vaccine Distribution - Archive
